HON. ADEBIMPE AKINSOLA sa.ART&CULTURE)Hon. (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola was born on October 6, 1961 in Igbogbo Area of Ikorodu, Lagos. She started her educational pursuit at U.A.M.C (Eleja) Primary School, Igbogbo from 1970 and thereafter graduated as a Grade II Teacher from Government Teachers’ College, Igbogbo in 1981. She proceeded to Lagos State College of Education, Oto-Ijanikin, where she was awarded with National Certificate of Education in Languages. She also bagged a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Degree in French Education in 1998 from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye.

Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola taught in various schools under the former Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission & Education, District IV of Lagos State between 1992 and 2011. Among the various positions of responsibilities held during this period was the Head of Department of Languages at United Christian Junior Secondary School & Apapa Senior High School, Apapa, Lagos between 2003 and 2011.

She was elected to represent the people of Ikorodu Constituency II under the party platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2011. During her tenure, she served as Vice-Chairman, House Committee on the Environment; Member, House Committee on Education, Science & Technology; Economic Planning & Budget, Ethics Protocol & privileges, Agric-Rural Development & Cooperatives and other adhoc committees.

Over the years, she has attended several capacity building courses to sharpen her teaching and public administration skills in Nigeria, Togo, Benin Republic, and Mauritania. She also attended the Transformational Leadership & Organizational Change Programme organized by Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2014.

She currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Arts & Culture.

She is a member of Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS); Young Women Christian Association (YWCA), Conference of Leaders of Ikorodu Division (COLID) and many others.

Hon. Akinsola loves travelling, reading and playing indoor games. She is happily married and blessed with children.
